Waffle Flower Challenge – October, 2016

Hello! I made this simple card for the Waffle Flower October challenge. The challenge was color and or image. I did colors only, I challenged myself to make a non fall card with the colors. I used paper from Craft Smith Painted Posies and American Crafts Neapolitan pack. I die cut the boarder with the Pinking Layers Die by Waffle Flower. That's it everybody, thanks for the visit.                                                                              waffle-flower-challenge-201610

Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #19

Hi! I am here with a card I made for the  Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge number 19. I chose background wash, no line coloring, and packaging goods as my three elements, the bottom row. I can count on one hand the number of times I have water colored and this is my first attempt at no line coloring. I need some more practice. I love how this challenge makes you get out of your comfort zone and try new things. I used some twine that used to secure a toy to a box as my packaging goods. My card measures 5" by 7" and the stamp I used for my no line coloring is by Waffleflower. Thanks for stopping by!

MAKE IT MONDAY #263: BACKGROUND BUILDING WITH FRAMES

Hello everyone! I am here with my creation for PTI challenge, background building with frames. Amy made a beautiful Christmas card with small dies as the background. I made this card for my Mom because she loves Mary Engelbreit and this challenge was perfect for the frames that I had from the Mary's Mottos rubber stamp set. I used PTI's stamp for the Happy birthday sentiment heat embossed white on black paper. The cake I stamped in a light yellow for the outline and then I colored it with crayola markers. I then stamped black ink with clean emboss over that to finish it off. Thanks for stopping in!

MAKE IT MONDAY #262 - PUMPKIN STAMPS 3 WAYS

Hello everyone! I am here with a card I made for PTI's make it Monday Challenge #262. Ashley challenged us to use pumpkin stamps in an nontraditional way. She made a cute flower with a button center. I made flowers as well, I stamped them on purple card stock and hand cut them out. I then dusted off some old scalloped edge scissors and trimmed off the bottom of the pumpkins and traced the edge with a black sharpie. I used a tree trunk stamp to make the stamens of the flowers and the leaves are from PTI's In Bloom stamp set on pink card stock. The happy sentiment is from PTI's Embroidered Blooms set. My card is a 5x7". Thanks for stopping in!

Waffle Flower Challenge

Hello! I am here with a card I made for the September Challenge at Waffle Flower. The colors in this challenge were just beautiful! Too bad for me I only own a few inks that worked with it, I had to supplement with Crayola markers to get all the colors in there. I hated this card when I first finished it and almost threw it out and then I came back to it a few days later and decided it wasn't so bad. So here it is, thanks for stopping by!

CFC153 -- Gift Tags

Hello everyone! I am here tonight with some tags I made for Cas-ual Friday challenge. I wanted to try the bokah effect on some ink blended tags. This is what I came up with. I used white pigment ink with different sized circle stamps and just layered with different amounts of ink on each. It was a fun experiment, I like how they turned out. Thanks for stopping by!

MIM challenge #256

Hello I am here today with Make It Monday Challenge: Spritzed stamps by the talented Melissa. Melissa shows us how to make a watercolor look with layered stamps. I didn't have any layered stamps that I thought would work with this technique so I decided to layer a single stamp to create layers. I used PTI's enclosed: star Mini Stamp set to create a 'flower' with 4 colors. The sentiment is from PTI's embroidered flower set. I finished it with lavender liquid pearls. Thanks for stopping in.

CAS-friday's Tic-Tac-Toe challenge

Hello everyone! I am here with a card I made for the CAS-friday's Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. I pick the middle row across for my three elements, dimension, mono-chromatic and shaped card. I used WaffleFlower's Feather More stamp set in different shades of blue. I then die cut and affixed them to a card base and fussy cut the feathers out for my shaped card element.  I heat embossed the celebrate in white on black paper, CAS-friday's shenanigans stamp set, I stamped the 'today is all about you' with my Versafine black onyx and then foam mounted the celebrate above that. Thanks for visiting!

Waffle Flower Challenge – July, 2016

Hello everyone! Checking in with a card I made for the Waffle Flower July Challenge. The challenge is the  inspiration photo below. Aren't those fun colors, I instantly went for the Hibiscus Stamp Set when I saw the inspiration photo. I wanted my card to be single layer so I started with playing around with the layout on strap until I liked it. I then made a mask for the toucan and the large Hibiscus, I still have a hard time stamping the foreground images first and then the background, I almost overlapped a leave on top of the flower. I colored the toucan with copic markers, except his bill, there is a stamp for that :). I finished it off with a black ink & clear embossed sentiment and some black sparkles. I really like how this card turned out. It feels appropriate for a Pokemon Go fanatic.

ColourQ Challenge #348

This card was a practice in water coloring made for the Colour Q. I heat embossed the 'Merry & Bright' with clear on a navy ink, stamps by Hero Arts C1802. I then masked over it and stamped the Hero Art's 'ornament' on top with Versamark embossing ink and clear embossing powder and heat set. I put the mask back over the sentiment and then I water colored. I finished it with a little navy splatter before removing the mask. Thanks for stopping by!

Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #13

Hello everyone I made this card today for the Tic Tac Toe challenge #13. The picked shimmer, border stamp and balloon. I used Avery Elle Fly By and Ellie stamp sets as well as Waffleflower Snail Mail stamp set. I did  masking and ink blending for most of the card the 'Congrats' is white heat embossed before the blue blending. I white heat embossed the 'hip hip hooray' on black card stock and placed it over the boo boo, NOTE don't ink blend on black stamped images if you can help it. I used Verafine onyx black and it blended in the blue a little. It wasn't pretty. There is glitter inside of the 'congrats' but it is hard to tell. I finished it off with sequence and black jewels. thanks for stopping in.

PTI: Make It Monday #254

Hello again! I am here with the card I made for Papertrey Ink's current challenge, stenciling with texture paste. Ashley shows us a neat way to color texture paste while it is still wet in the stencil. I had a little difficultly doing it that way with the stencil I used, it is a sticky back reusable stencil great for ink blending, but not so good for texture paste. My 'paste', talc powder and Elmer's glue' stuck to the stencil, maybe if I had an acetate stencil it would have worked better. I didn't want to got to the craft store to buy either a new stencil or paste so this is what I came up with. I used a wreath stencil that came with a set of recollections Christmas stamps and put in a thin layer of paste. I let it dry slightly and then carefully removed the stencil. Most of the leaves came off but some remained. I just hide the boo boo's with the blue water color paint I put on top.  I ink blended in a matching blue and cut a notch out after. The sentiment is PTI's birthday basics in silver emboss on a navy card stock. Thanks for stopping by!

Waffle Flower June Challenge

Hello everyone! Today I am here with a card I made for the Waffleflower June Challenge. The challenge is a photo inspiration color challenge. I loved this challenge! It forced me to use color combinations outside of my comfort zone but I love how it turned out. I use Waffleflower's Gemstone stamp set, momento inks, and gold heat embosses. Looks like I didn't get my post up in time :( I will leave up my post but I didn't enter the challenge.                                                                                                                                      wfc-201606-photo

Make it Monday Challenge #253 Reverse stenciling

Hello! Today I finished my PTI make it Monday Challenge #253. Betsy showed us a technique of inking up a stencil and then applying it to paper to get the reverse image. I only have 3 stencils that are reusable cling stencils, they came with some stamp sets I got at Michael's, Recollections I think. I picked this leafy one and thought green on craft would nice to try. I made the card an odd size to fit the stencil 4.25" by 6.25". The sentiment is PTI's think big favorites #9 in green heat emboss. The flowers are PTI's embroidered blooms. I had fun experimenting on this card. Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Camp create day 3: Wonderful Watercolor

Hello everyone I am here 'at' Camp Create and this is my creation for the wonderful watercolor challenge. I tried something new with watercolor paints with this card. I mix a little watercolor with some bubble solution and blew bubbles on a piece of white card stock. I saw it done with food coloring and bubbles and it made nice bubble rings on paper, but for whatever reason when I did it I just basically got splatter. The bubbles popped as soon as  they hit the paper, but they were supposed to stick to the paper for a moment first and make a nice ring. So I worked with what I had and made this card. The elephant is Avery Elle water colored. and the sentiment is white gel pen via Cricut. The edge is black card stock with white heat embossing stripes.
