MAKE IT MONDAY #246: FAUX BRUSH LETTERING

I made this card for the MIM #246 using Amy's Faux brush lettering technique of water coloring on top of a stamped image to make it look hand painted. I used the largest sentiment by PTI I had available, make a wish, Think Big Favorites#1 , I stamped it in blue and painted teal on top, the contrast is better in person. I then made candles with PTI's the enclosed: star stamp set. I also tried Amy's technique on the flame with another shade of yellow. I masked off rectangles and blended the candle sticks. Amy made this technique look easy I had to correct some of my heavy hand with a white gel pen. Maybe I will have to get a larger more scripty font sentiment.

PTI Make it Monday Challenge #244

I am so excited I finally own some new PTI stamps! I just got a bunch of sets from my family for my birthday and this is the first official card made with my new stamps! The challenge this week was to use  score lines. I have an embossing folder that makes score lines so I used that. I did try scoring by hand horizontally along the bottom of this card originally, but I didn't like how it looked. I think the vertical strips help draw your eye the the sentiment and flowers. Thanks for stopping by!

PTI March Blog hop

I made this card for the PTI blog hop inspired by the beautiful embroidery art by Izziyana Suhaimi. Her work is just lovely. I water colored on grey paper and then did a water mark stamp, I was hoping it would look a little like pencil. I used hero art stamps for the flowers and PTI for the sentiment. I really wanted to use actual embroidery, but I decide to leave that to the experts ;). Thanks for stopping by!

March Challenge

Hello again! I made this card for the Altenew March Challenge: from places abroad-France. The inspiration photo is just beautiful, one day maybe I will go to France. I modified an image by bird on my cricut to make my 'garden'. I used an embossing folder by Sizzix to add more of a maze garden element and to bring focus to the center of the card. I gold embossed Altenew sentiment on craft paper. I really how this card came out. Thanks for stopping by!

PTI Create Along with Us

I made this card for the PTI create along with us challenge. I was inspired by the new stitched bike dies. Erin Lincoln created a lovely felt box seen above, I like the look of the stitching, it softens the look of a stiff bike. I used macrame cord to make tires for my cricut cut bike. The sentiment is PTI. I really enjoyed making this card, thanks for stopping by.

CAS(E)#163

CAS(E) this sketch! challenge. For this card I used watercolor and wax paper to create the textured look on the blue section of the watercolor by letting it dry with wax paper on top, it has to be fairly wet for it to work. I also did it to the other watercolor sections but I don't think they were wet enough.  I created a gradation on the stamps to match the colors of the watercolors and I cricut cut the happy birthday.

double challenge card

I made this card for the PTI make it Monday Challenge#242 and the Waffle Flower Challenge March. The challenge for Waffle Flower was to use the inspiration photo and watercolor. the PTI challenge was to do blending on the stamp before stamping. I blended on the triangles neon and a orange yellow and on some of the flower centers. I painted brown watercolor on a wood grain stamp trying to get a grainy texture inspired by the basket from the photo. The sentiment is from PTI and the flowers are by waffle flower. I had a lot of fun making this card, thanks for stopping by.
